# Set up Smart Launcher on a foldable phone

Configure independent Smart Launcher home screen layouts on a foldable phone.

Smart Launcher can keep separate home screen layouts for the cover and inner displays of a foldable phone. Independent setups are optional; use them when you want different grids, icons, pages, or folders on each display.

1. Update Smart Launcher from Google Play.
2. Open *Preferences* → *Multi display settings*.
3. Enable *Independent setups*.
4. With the phone open, arrange the inner display's grid, icons, pages, and folders.
5. Fold the phone and arrange the cover display separately.

If you prefer the same home screen on both displays, leave *Independent setups* turned off.

Android and the device software control which display receives a system wallpaper change. Smart Launcher may not be able to target only the cover or inner display when changing a wallpaper.
